I'm in need of a savefile AFTER the lodite minigame at the bottom of the lake (in Arc 3). I just absolutely can't get past it - every time I've played this game, my journey has always stopped right there. :/ Trust me, I've known this game for a while and played it several times.

The matter is made worse because I'm slow and my sight's gone to hell during this past year or so. My right eye's blurry when I look far, and my left sucks when I try to look at something near me. -_-' So yeah, I only have my right eye to look at this game.

Thank you for any help.

PS. This is for the Super Pack... the one downloaded straight from the site. (At first I downloaded the game from somewhere else and couldn't even get past arc 1. Emma kept getting stuck in the doorway of Torto's shop right after the prologue with Andau.)

We don't give out savefiles to help people get past difficult puzzles. Keep practicing the lodite mini-game...and I think there have been a couple other threads about it, so if you search you may find some good advice.

The bug you reported concerns me, though. We will look into it.

Well, it appears the game just won't let me get past that point, no matter how much I try.

I've practiced at the minigame for a whole hour nonstop, but the buttons aren't responding at all. D works just fine, but whenever I press A, S and W, Stoic won't dodge. :/ After a while even the D button stops working. And no, my keyboard isn't defective and I certainly wasn't too slow at it. I'm under the impression that the whole minigame is buggy when you retry after a failed attempt.

I keep having to restart at the minigame. The buttons will work during the first round, but during the second, they instantly stop responding.

Okay, if that's what's going on, I'm moving this to Support and we'll see if ArtBane has some insight.

Nothing's more irritating than a progression block. I'll take a look into the matter tonight but unlikely I'll have an updated version till the Revision is complete. If you want, you can attach your save file to a post and I'll progress you past the block so you can continue on your way.

Thanks, I attached the save.

Btw, if the progression block doesn't exist on any other game, then it must be my computer's fault. My comp has a tendency to cause my browsers to freeze (both Firefox and Opera)... so I wouldn't be surprised if it affected games.
-_-' (Then again, I can play all the other games I have without problems...)

Here's your save progressed past the Underwater Mini-game. Don't worry, you didn't miss much. Except Stoic giving Finley mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Thank you. ...o_O Why's the file smaller now?

edit: I think something's seriously wrong now. It's the exact same thing with that horse minigame where you chase after Sparrow. I keep hitting Enter and the horse jumps, but whenever I press W to activate the wind spell, the horse just jumps off the cliff and I have to try again. It doesn't matter how I press the button, the spell just won't activate - I keep it pressed, I keep hitting it, I hit it once. I've done everything - hit it before the W pops up, when the W pops up and AFTER the W pops up. Nothing works. Well, yeah. Stuck as a wagon in the mud. Again.

It looks like the minigames listen to the Enter command, but the keys just won't register. -_-

Totally random, but try hitting the C key.  Not enter.

I don't know if it's just a misnomer, but I just got past this part last night and that's what was required for me.  Strikes me as strange.

P.S. The Lodites were real sizziwhatsits for me as well because this computer is ancient and the timing on the guns became more or less a guessing game.  Still got past it within about an hour

Sounds like your key binding is different than the default key commands. If I had been more tech savvy when I wrote the code for those, I'd probably have referenced what keys the AWSD keys were actually binded to.

Anyway, I think I'm gonna change those mini-games so they just use the arrows from now on instead of the letters. I think it's safe to assume that all the arrow keys are the same across all system profiles. Smiley

That or I just remove those games altogether. Those two mini-games have been some of the most controversial in the game. I'd probably keep the dodging aspect of the horse chase and the enter mashing but remove the AWSD portion.

The lodite dodging must remain. Though I think just using the arrows is pretty reasonable and will probably be easier for most players. I don't recall as many complaints about the horse sequence.

I think the arrow combos would work for both pretty well. It would actually be challenging enough if the arrows were added into the horse chase as well, otherwise it could become boring for the expert players.
