Hello,

I'm a massive fan and have been playing the games since arc II came out. I havent played VI yet but it had been that long that I thought I should play through them all again. I just tried installing the super duper pack on windows 7 and can't get it to work. It says RGSSS player has stopped working. Do i need to install the rtp or something? Anyone else had this problem? Cheers. Phil

Yes, I think that'd be wise. Fortunatley, that's not so hard.

1) Go there.
2) Follow instructions.
3) Huh
4) PROFIT

You also might want to google RPGMaker XP on windows 7. I remember slight problems with getting it to work on Vista, so that might have just carried over...

I also have this problem, RGSS player is not responding, also in Windows 7.  I have both RPG Maker XP and RPG Maker VX installed and still no joy in getting it running.  Would love to MotW a go but alas it doesn't seem like I can.  Any help in working out why it doesn't like to run in Windows 7 is most appreciated.

Google is your friend. Tongue

Well, have you fully installed the RTP and not just say "Instal RPG Maker XP" you only need to install the RTP. If you have not done that yet, look at HarryE's message as he tells you how to do it... sort of.

I have the RTP installed fully and I have done a google search, but the only results that come up regarding this problem is that everybody seems to be asking the same question about how to get MotW to run in Windows 7 without the RGGS player is not responding message.  So I guess MotW won't play in Windows 7 even in compatibility mode.

Strange! now it is working ok in Windows 7, don't know what caused it to start working but it is, but the problem is now there is no background music playing, even when you click on  the piano and select the music tune to play nothing happens, does the audio folder have to be in a different folder other than in the main program folder.

Yes, the audio is in a different folder because the file size would be too big otherwise. In the download, you should see the folders "MOTW" and the folder "Audio" or something like that. You need to move the "Audio" folder in the "MOTW" folder.
