Check out the shops! They now sell maps for each region. Plus, if you're on the Johanna Sidequest, you can get Taruka, that Dohan during that quest, to mark where the Dohan Bandits are. In future, NPC's will be able to mark where other enemies are, as well as Inns, and methods of travel!

Played for a while, and definitely found a bug. If you're wandering the overworld and happen to go to that map where the opening scene is, it starts up again!

Now I gotta keep wandering around, Dejack said he wanted to go back to Corlaise or whatever it's called, but nothing happened. This thread says something about a manor, so I'll look for that.

Edit: Seem to have found my way back to the main storyline, but this game could really use some kind of in-game map, it's tough to remember where to go for the different regions and whatever.

Yeah, I did intend it to be unencrypted, this is a beta, remember? And yeah, I forogot, I changed the font because nobody liked the last one. It's "Modern No. 20", now.
http://www.mediafire.com/i/?xc34sl2iwmn45iw. Here. Sorry bout that.

Also, the front page is updated with a new Mediafire file that works as well as a few more screenies! Cheesy

Extracting worked, though this version appears to be unecrypted, not sure if you intended that. The problem I'm having now is the font. No matter how many times I install the font you included in the package, I can't see any text on the title screen. Maybe I should just change it myself, if I can remember how...

I've heard about problems with compression in files over a certain limit (128 mb, iirc). The solution (which you probably did) is to take out the Audio folder, compress it, and include both in a .rar.

Anyhow, I'll definitely give this a spin sometime. The gameplay in previous projects have always rivaled that of MotW's, and from the screens I've seen I'm sure it won't disappoint.

Okay, I thought it was all going well... I did what you said and I thought you may have cracked it, but then, while compressing, it did that weird Test.002 thing again, but this time on one of the charsets. On one of the ones I made myself!

I converted all the sound, so all the BGM, BGS, ME and SE into .WAVs, like you said. I used a program to do it, though. Then I used Audacity to convert them all back into .OGGs. Took forever, but they at least took less file space than before.

So, I reckon the problem here is to do with file size... Maybe my converter's broken or something, but maybe once it reaches a certain filesize, it spazzes out like this.

So yeah, I'll do what you guys did and zip the Audio seperatley. It'll be smaller thanks to the .ogg conversion, and it'll be up just as soon as mediafire goes back online.

Edit: Screw mediafire. It's going onto rapidshare. 51% done atm.

It's been my experience that when files get corrupted, they are almost always MP3s or other sound files...we get them from a variety of sources, so it makes sense. If I remember right, we had an issue with "The Hand" song for one of the MotW installments...I wound up using Itunes to convert into a WAV and then convert that WAV back to an MP3 file, then it worked.

No, it's not a problem with my compressor after all, I think you're right, Volrath. I just tried compressing my Fangame and decompressing it again, and it worked without a hitch. Even that Test.002 file wasn't made.

I'm not sure what the problem is here, bu here's what happens when I try to compress the game.

It compresses as normal until it gets to the 'odd' file. I'm not sure that the odd file is corrupt, because when I replaced the TownNoises3.ogg for TownNoises3.mp3, the extract still stopped on that file. However, when I get rid of that file, the odd file is Game Over, which is an ME.

Anyway, when it gets to that odd file, I can see .rar file is created with the same filename as he folder of my game. Then, when it gets to the end, that Test.002 file is created (which appears alongside the compressed file), the .rar file disappears and the normal RMXP compressed file appears. If you try to uncompress that, it'll decompress until it gets to that odd file, and then it'll say, 'Extract Failed'

I have no idea what is going on.

None at all.

I think I could try what you guys did. Remove the Audio file and place that sepearatley in a .rar file.

EDIT: Alright, I did that. I'll upload it as soon as Mediafire comes back up.

Is the extractor stopping on that Test.002 file (though I'm not sure what it is)? If not, where does it stop now that the TownNoises file is out? There might be a handful of corrupted files in there.

And damn, that Nostalgia Critic is SUCH a ham.
